The short version
We book Sprinters, shuttles, limousines and party buses by the hour in Webster. Friday and Saturday nights run on a four-hour minimum, and Sunday through Thursday can often be three. The Galveston cruise terminals are 35 to 45 minutes off, Hobby is 20 to 25, and Kemah is under 15. Your quote covers driver, fuel, local mileage, taxes, gratuity and unlimited stops.
Boarding closes at a time your cruise line picked, eleven people are checking out of two different hotels, and between you there are nineteen suitcases. That's a Webster morning. This is a small city with an enormous number of hotel rooms — the stretch along I-45 and NASA Parkway is where wedding guests, cruise passengers, hospital families, business travelers and everyone in town for Space Center Houston sleeps. Which means a lot of what we drive here isn't a party. It's a group with luggage that has to be somewhere.
Cruise morning, hotel to the terminal
Plenty of passengers spend the night before sailing here, because rooms are easier to come by than on the island and the drive is nothing. Come departure morning, the terminals along Harborside Drive in Galveston are 35 to 45 minutes south on I-45 — longer on a summer Saturday when every ship in port is loading at the same hour.
The plan usually goes like this. The pickup at the hotel entrance is timed to your ship's boarding window rather than its sailing time, which is the mistake people make most often; your cruise line and the Port of Galveston will tell you which terminal you're using. Luggage drives the vehicle choice, so we'll want a checked-bag count — party buses have perimeter seating and very little room for suitcases, which is why a Sprinter or shuttle wins most cruise groups. The drop happens at the terminal curb in whichever lane port traffic control is running that day. And the trip home on disembarkation morning is booked separately, with a pickup window instead of a fixed time, because customs lines are their own weather system.
Galveston may be quoted as long-distance depending on the route, since our standard area runs about an hour's drive from our base — so a transfer from a hotel here is priced with that in mind, up front. Our cruise transfer page covers timing and terminal details.
Hobby, Bush, and getting there with the bags
Those same hotels feed both airports. From I-45 and NASA Parkway on an ordinary day:
| Airport | Typical drive | Rush hour |
|---|---|---|
| Hobby | 20 to 25 minutes | 30 to 40 minutes |
| Bush Intercontinental | 45 to 60 minutes | 60 to 80 minutes |
A team of six to ten with luggage does best in a 10-passenger executive Sprinter — everyone gets a real seat facing the road and the suitcases live behind the last row. Bigger than that and a 24-passenger shuttle bus will take a wedding party or a conference group plus their bags. Give us flight numbers and the pickup can flex around a delay instead of guessing. There's more on our airport transportation page and in the airport and corporate shuttle guide.
Across the Houston-region inquiries we've analyzed in our Houston inquiry data, about 7% of inquiries with a quoted vehicle mentioned a Sprinter van. Small share of the whole, and none of it is Webster-specific — but it's the share that describes this exact trip: ten or fewer people who need to be somewhere on time, with bags, and who have no use for a dance floor.

When the whole guest list is staying on NASA Parkway
Couples getting married in League City, Kemah, Seabrook or out on the island very often put their hotel block here. That hands them a shuttle problem: forty or eighty people in one or two hotels, a venue somewhere between 10 and 45 minutes away, and a ceremony that starts whether everyone made it or not.
Roughly how it shakes out. With the venue in Kemah, Seabrook or League City — 10 to 20 minutes — a single shuttle can get two loops in before the ceremony as long as the first one rolls about an hour early. Out on Galveston Island, 35 to 45 minutes each way, two loops stops being realistic: either move everyone at once in a larger coach, or run two vehicles together. And the end of the night is its own thing, because guests never leave in one wave — one loop about an hour before the finish and a final one after the send-off is the pattern that works.
Drop your guest count, drive time and ceremony start into the planner below and it'll tell you how many loops and seats that adds up to.

One evening out, no freeway required
Not everything here is a transfer. Groups in town for a conference or a wedding weekend usually want one night out, and this is a good place to have it.
- Kemah Boardwalk, 10 to 15 minutes east by NASA Parkway and Highway 146, for waterfront dinner and the rides.
- Topgolf, right on the I-45 corridor here, which makes an easy opening stop for coworkers or a guys' night out.
- Baybrook, a little up the freeway, where the restaurants have big surface lots a bus can load in without drama.
- Clear Lake and Nassau Bay restaurants along NASA Parkway, five to ten minutes out.
For twelve to eighteen people staying at a hotel, an 18-passenger Escalade limousine or an 18-passenger party bus turns the evening into an occasion without anybody facing the drive into town. A girls' night out that starts in the lobby and ends back in the lobby never needs a car or a rideshare at all.

If the night is going up I-45
Downtown, Midtown or NRG is 25 to 40 minutes on a Saturday evening from here, and can stretch toward an hour on a weekday at five. A four-hour block leaves you three hours in town at best, which is worth knowing before you book it. Across the regional inquiries in our data, about 11% asked for seven to eight hours, and those were mostly full-day plans — Galveston trips, wedding days, out-of-town games. A cruise-and-dinner day from here has the same shape.
The other number worth your attention: about 31% of inquiries with a valid group size were for ten passengers or fewer. That's why we push for a real headcount before quoting anybody a bus.

Run the comparison →What makes a hotel pickup go smoothly
These hotels were built around cars and airport vans, and most take a Sprinter or shuttle bus without any trouble. A few things do help. Hotel name plus which entrance, since several of them share lots along I-45 and the wrong porte-cochere costs everybody ten minutes. Canopy height matters too — some entrances are low enough that a tall bus can't get under, in which case the driver loads alongside instead. Getting twenty people counted in the lobby before the vehicle arrives saves more time than anything else on this list. And for families near the medical center on Medical Center Boulevard, a quiet pickup at the main entrance is easy to arrange; we just need the building.
Neighbors in Clear Lake, League City and Galveston book on the same terms.
The booking side
Transfers and nights out work identically. Half reserves the vehicle, the balance lands 7 to 14 days before you travel. Driver, fuel, local mileage, taxes, gratuity, every stop inside your booked time, and ice and water on party buses and limousines — all already in the number. When a route runs past the one-hour mark from our base, the extra drive time is written into the quote instead of appearing later. Adults 21 and up may bring drinks in cans or plastic; no food, no glitter, no smoking. If you run long, there's a 15-minute grace period before overtime, and only when the vehicle is free to stay.
