The short version
Party Bus In Houston is Conroe's party bus, limo and shuttle company. We pick up at lake houses, resorts, gated communities and downtown addresses, and most Conroe groups fit a 20- to 30-passenger party bus. Weekend nights, Friday and Saturday, come with a four-hour minimum, quotes include driver, fuel, tax and gratuity, and long runs south are quoted with the distance built in.
SH 105 after midnight is a long, dark road with a rented lake house at the far end of it, and it's behind most of the calls we get from Conroe. Dinner was on the square or down in The Woodlands; the beds are out past FM 1097. Hire a driver and that stretch becomes the part of the night where everyone's asleep against a window, instead of the part where one person is squinting at the centerline with a glass of water still sitting on the table back at the restaurant.
For us, Conroe is two towns wearing one name. There's the lake — out SH 105 and FM 1097, narrow streets, steep driveways, a rented house with a dock. And there's the I-45 side: the courthouse square, the neighborhoods off Loop 336, the quick shot down to The Woodlands. Both work. They just need different planning, and it starts with where you're standing when the bus pulls up.
Your pickup address decides half the plan
Grand Central Park or somewhere off League Line Road is the easy version. Wide streets, the bus pulls to the curb, and you're on the freeway in five minutes.
The lake asks more of everyone. A lot of those houses sit on short peninsulas with a single way in, oak limbs hanging low over the pavement, and a drive that tips down toward the water. A 30-foot bus isn't going down there — it waits at the top and the group walks up. That's completely normal, it works fine, and it's much better known in advance than discovered at 7 PM by someone in heels.
If there's a gate
April Sound, Walden and Bentwater all run staffed or coded gates. The guard needs the vehicle on a list, or a resident has to phone it in. Give us the gate name when you book along with however your host wants it handled, and loop in the owner or manager if it's a short-term rental. Ten minutes stuck at a gate arm is far and away the most common reason a lake pickup starts behind schedule.
If you're at the resort
The resort on Del Lago Boulevard — the one longtime locals still call La Torretta — has a real hotel entrance with room for something large. Easiest pickup on the lake, hands down. And if half the group is there and half is in a house over in Walden, we get both; extra stops don't cost anything inside the hours you've booked.
The Saturday night nobody wants to drive
Lake weekends have a shape. Friday is arrival and a grocery run. Saturday is the boat. Then there's the one evening everybody goes out together, and that's the night we hear about.
It's the request we field most from the lake, for bachelorette parties and bachelor parties alike. Across the Houston-region inquiry data we've analyzed, about 5% of inquiries with an event type were for a bachelor party. There's no Conroe-only version of that number and we won't invent one, but the lake is where that kind of trip gathers up here.
Groups generally choose one of three versions of the evening. Staying local means dinner on the water and then downtown — short drives, most of your hours spent out of the vehicle. The Woodlands is the popular middle path, roughly 25 minutes from the dam area, and our Woodlands page covers where a bus can legally stage down there. Going all the way into Houston for Washington Avenue or Midtown is the ambitious one, and it's over an hour each way from the west side of the lake, which turns a four-hour block into mostly windshield. Book five or six if that's the plan.
Guests 21 and up bring their own in cans or plastic, no glass, and ice and bottled water are already on board. The BYOB and cooler calculator will tell you what to grab at the H-E-B on the way in so you're not guessing in the aisle.
A 26-passenger interior, the size many lake house groups end up in.
How long things really take from here
Measured from the courthouse square. Tack on 15 to 25 minutes if you're starting from the west shore.
| Destination | Route | Typical time |
|---|---|---|
| Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion | I-45 south to Lake Woodlands Drive | 20–25 min |
| The Woodlands Waterway | I-45 south | 20–25 min |
| Bush Intercontinental (IAH) | I-45 to the Hardy Toll Road or Beltway 8 | 40–50 min |
| Downtown Houston | I-45 south | 45–60 min |
| Washington Avenue / Midtown | I-45 south | 50–65 min |
| NRG Stadium | I-45 to 610 or SH 288 | 60–75 min |
| Huntsville | I-45 north | 30–35 min |
Evenings are kind to you going south. At 6 PM the crush on I-45 is northbound — people coming home — and you're headed the opposite way. Where it bites is the run through The Woodlands and Spring, particularly when there's a show at the Pavilion. On the way back after midnight, the road belongs to you.

Work out your hours →Counting heads for a lake house full of people
Across the inquiries we've analyzed region-wide, about 49% of those with a group size were for 11 to 20 passengers, and about 13% were for 21 to 30. Lake groups tend to drift toward the upper end, for a reason anyone who's hosted one knows: a house that sleeps 16 picks up a few locals by Saturday night.
Which is why the two vehicles that come up most in Conroe conversations are the 26-passenger party bus and the 30-passenger party bus. Twelve to eighteen people ride comfortably in a 20-passenger party bus, and anniversary dinners or smaller birthday groups usually prefer a ten-passenger stretch limousine. Whatever you pick, the rating is the rating — count the people who've actually committed, not the ones still thinking about it.

The square has come a long way
The blocks around the courthouse have filled in over the past several years. The Crighton and the Owen anchor the theater side, Main and Simonton have bars and restaurants, and with the taprooms around town — B-52 Brewing out in the pines among them — you can put together a real brewery tour without ever leaving Montgomery County.
The square itself is angled parking and tight corners, so no, we're not going to idle a bus outside a restaurant door. The driver drops you at the curb, moves to somewhere a long vehicle fits, and comes back when you text. Name your first and last stop and we'll work out the staging ahead of time.
Every October the Conroe Cajun Catfish Festival shuts streets downtown for a weekend of music and food; Visit Conroe, the city's tourism office, posts the dates. Closures move where we can drop, so on festival weekend we agree on a meeting corner a block or two outside the barricades and everyone knows where to walk.

Pavilion nights, and the part after the encore
The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is the nearest big venue, and concert transportation is an easy call there: parking is scattered across garages and lots with a walk on either end, and getting out takes a while no matter how clever you are. The bus drops near the entrance, stages away during the show, and you walk to a spot you agreed on earlier. Choose that spot before the lights go down — not during the encore — because cell service among 16,000 people is a rumor.
Going straight to a show and straight home fits the four-hour minimum neatly. Put dinner on the Waterway in front of it and you'll want five.
What Conroe ISD and Willis parents need to know
Families from Conroe High, Caney Creek, Oak Ridge, Grand Oaks and Willis High all book prom with us, and the rules don't change by campus. Any Saturday from March through May is a six-hour booking at minimum. The contract goes in the name of a parent who's 21 or older. And with no parent or guardian aboard, the ride is dry — the driver owns that rule, which means you don't have to.
What is specific to here is the map. Caney Creek families are spread east toward Grangerland and Cut and Shoot, Conroe High families ring Loop 336, and the lake families are out west. Door-to-door pickups across that much ground can burn an hour before the night starts, so most groups settle on one house for photos and have everyone meet there. Fall homecoming sits outside the spring season, so a four-hour Saturday covers it.
The 30-passenger bus, a common pick when two prom friend groups merge.
Weddings out in the pines
Conroe weddings usually happen at the resort, at a ranch or pine-woods venue off SH 105 or FM 1097, or at the Lone Star Convention and Expo Center. They share one problem: the guests are staying somewhere else, generally a hotel on I-45, and the road between the two is dark and rural and not where you want forty people driving at eleven.
A wedding shuttle loop takes care of it. One or two vehicles carry guests out to the ceremony and back at the end, while the wedding party keeps its own bus or limo for photos. Our wedding transportation guide works through timing and how many loops you'll need.
The quote, and what distance does to it
Everything's in one number: vehicle, driver, fuel, local mileage, taxes, the driver's gratuity, unlimited stops, ice and water. Half of it holds the date, and the rest lands a week or two before the trip.
Distance deserves a straight answer. Our standard service area reaches about an hour's drive from our base, and anything past that is quoted as long-distance with the extra drive time inside the price. Conroe to The Woodlands, Montgomery, Willis or Magnolia is a short run. Downtown Houston is around 40 miles from the square, College Station is long-distance outright, and Galveston may be, depending on the route. Tell us the farthest stop and the number that comes back already accounts for it — our quote checklist lists everything worth including.
As history and nothing more: region-wide, about 47% of recorded historical quotes came in between $1,000 and $1,499 for the whole trip. Past quotes, not today's prices, and the longer Conroe itineraries land above that band more often than the short ones do.
