The short version
In Friendswood we book limousines, Sprinters, and party buses by the hour, with a four-hour minimum on Friday and Saturday nights and three hours possible Sunday through Thursday. Many Friendswood groups are ten people or fewer, so a limousine is often the better fit. Kemah and Baybrook are 15 to 25 minutes away, Downtown Houston 30 to 45. Quotes are all-inclusive.
Most people who call us from Friendswood start by asking for a party bus, and a fair number of them don't need one. Four couples going to dinner on the water don't want to shout over a sound system. They want to sit down, keep talking, and pull up somewhere the valet can actually work with.
So this page starts with the sizing conversation, then gets into the neighborhoods, the school calendar, the Fourth of July, and which way you leave town.
Why a limo wins here more often than people expect
Across the Houston-region inquiries we've analyzed in our Houston inquiry data, about 34% of birthday inquiries were for ten passengers or fewer, and even among inquiries that specifically mentioned a party bus, about 20% came from groups that small. There's no Friendswood-only figure, but those numbers match what we hear from this side of Clear Creek.
Among birthday inquiries that named a vehicle, about 24% mentioned a limousine. That's a small cohort of 41, so read it as a lean rather than a law — still, it fits the dinner-sized celebrations families plan around here.
Sizing it up:
| Group | Vehicle | What you gain |
|---|---|---|
| 2 to 6, date night or anniversary | 10-passenger Lincoln limousine | Room to talk over dinner, and it pulls into waterfront valet lanes |
| 6 to 10, family dinner or graduation | 10-passenger Chrysler 300 limousine | Classic arrival, room for a small cooler |
| 8 to 12, mixed ages | 12-passenger limo Sprinter | Walk-in door, no crouching, good for anyone with bad knees |
| 13 to 18, dance group or birthday | 18-passenger party bus | Room to stand, one sound system |

An evening that points east
A couples' night from here almost always heads toward the water. Kemah Boardwalk and the waterfront kitchens in Kemah, Seabrook and Nassau Bay are 20 to 30 minutes out. Clear Lake's restaurant row on NASA Parkway is nearer still.
Three or four couples usually land on something like this:
- 6:00 PM pickup at one house, with photos in the driveway.
- 6:30 PM dinner on the water in Kemah or Seabrook, reservation for the whole group.
- 8:30 PM a walk on the Boardwalk, or a drink somewhere quieter.
- 10:00 PM home, with each couple dropped at their own door.
Four hours on a Saturday covers that with room left over. Midweek, three hours may be on the table. Our date night page and anniversary page have more on pacing an evening that's built around conversation instead of dancing.
The one weekend the whole town is outside
Friendswood's Fourth of July celebration is among the longest-running in the region — parade through the middle of town in the morning, fireworks at night. It's the one day a year when your small streets are full of people who don't live on them.
If a group ride is part of your plan, keep three things in mind. Streets near FM 518 and FM 2351 close along the parade route in the morning, and the City of Friendswood posts that year's route and times. A pickup point two streets off the route saves everyone a headache, so a house on the edge beats a house on the parade itself. And the evening is worth planning as its own trip — plenty of families spend the day at home, then take a limo or bus over to Kemah or out to a spot on the Bay for the fireworks, which our Fourth of July page gets into.
Demand that weekend is what you'd expect, so the Fourth of July evening is not a date to sit on.

What the driver needs to know about your street
The town is almost all residential, and every neighborhood has its own quirk.
West Ranch. Newer, with gated sections and landscaped cul-de-sacs. The driver goes on the visitor list the day before. A limousine or Sprinter clears every turn; a larger bus may load at the entrance to your street instead.
Wedgewood Village, Windsong and Forest Bend. Older streets, big mature trees, and it's the low limbs that decide where a tall vehicle can stop.
Sunmeadow. Curving streets around the golf course. Nothing mid-size has trouble here.
Polly Ranch. Built around a private airstrip with access rules of its own, so mention it when you book.
Near Clear Creek. Some low streets hold water after heavy rain. If the forecast turns, we'd rather suggest a meeting point on higher ground than find out the hard way.

Mustang homecoming, and the spring that runs by different rules
Friendswood ISD's Friendswood High is the home campus for most of the city, while the Harris County side of town falls to Clear Creek ISD and Clear Brook High. Their homecoming and prom dates don't always collide, which quietly makes it easier to find a vehicle.
Homecoming is an autumn Saturday with a four-hour floor, and the usual group is 10 to 16 students with moms — a mid-size bus or a large limousine handles it. Prom is a different animal. Spring Saturdays from March through May can't be booked for less than six hours, no exceptions. A parent signs, since the contract holder has to be 21 or older, and students ride alcohol-free unless a parent or guardian is on board. Big backpacks stay in the house.
Full timelines are on our homecoming page and prom page. For the end of senior year, the graduation page covers the dinner after the ceremony, which around here is usually a limousine and a family of eight.
Which road you take depends entirely on where you're going
There's no freeway in Friendswood, which is part of its charm and all of its routing problem.
- To Kemah, Clear Lake, or Webster: FM 528 or FM 2351 east, 15 to 25 minutes.
- To Baybrook: 10 to 15 minutes.
- To Pearland: FM 518 west, 15 to 20 minutes.
- To Downtown or Midtown: I-45 north, 30 to 45 minutes on a Saturday evening.
- To NRG: 30 to 40 minutes by the Beltway and 288.
- To Galveston: 35 to 45 minutes by I-45.
Most nights from here stay close — Houston, Pearland, or somewhere on the Bay. Anything that reaches past about an hour's drive from our base is quoted as long-distance, and a Galveston day may fall that way depending on the route you want. Neighbors in Pearland and League City use a lot of the same roads.
The terms, plainly
Limo or bus, nothing changes. Half the total holds your vehicle, and the rest is settled somewhere in the week or two before you ride. What we quote already includes the driver and the driver's tip, fuel, local mileage, taxes, as many stops as you want inside your hours, and ice and bottled water. Adults are welcome to bring wine or drinks in cans or plastic — never glass. No food, glitter, confetti or smoking aboard, and the clock for overtime doesn't start until a 15-minute grace period has passed.
If you're weighing a limo against driving yourselves and stacking up rideshares at the end of the night, this puts both totals side by side.
